An Actual Blog Post..Current Projects And Reading.
Unfortunately the case study for my latest project (Amazon based) isn’t ready yet and I’m still putting the money away to get it properly rolling. I’m listening to the Tim Ferris podcast with a coffee (it’s the Matt Mullenweg one discussing blogging and vlogging) which i find focuses my mind and makes running less laborious – definitely worth listening to.
I’ve been listening and reading a bit recently, specifically the Duncan Bannatyne books ‘Anyone can do it’ (eBook via iPhone) and ‘wake up and change your life’ (youtube).
Me and my girlfriend also found the section in ‘Anyone can do it’ where he built a nursery business (sprogs), something me and Charlotte have been costing up for the past few days now which is really exciting. We mustn’t though lose focus on our current businesses, the classic VW campervan rental company and the VW Campervan memorabilia shop (Lark lane Campervans and the I Love Campervans Shop) which we are currently putting together/polishing. So nurseries for now are on the list with the restaurant in St Ives and the Legal Consultancy of things ‘to-do’ which I’m tempted to write on a white board and put next to the TV.
Tomorrow I begin a filler job in between hopefully a new position at LJMU and then over to Hope University in September to study business management. So all is very up in the air to be beginning two new businesses but it’s a lot of excitement and a sense of achievement that well out-ways the stress.
Despite being just over 200 words, I feel now I’ve written at least something. No doubt scribbling this and getting over my blogging duck will have me publishing a ‘business wizard vs business wizard’ post (like Elon Musk Vs Thomas Edison) by the end of the day. Perhaps Richard Branson vs JP Morgan? who knows.
One thing i must do today is more maths and costings as their isn’t much more important than making sure your accounts for a new project are as specific as possible before beginning. Maths – if its detailed enough for getting a rocket to the moon it’s good enough for business.
